I have almost no weight on the rear wheels, and it's manual, rwd, not 4wd, but I don't put weight in the bed. People tell me to all the time, but it's personal preference not to. Weight may be a great help from a stop, but I don't want it around turns. As it is now, I can spin around a turn, and since the bed is light I have plenty of time to react and pull it back in. When you start throwing weight in there, you add momentum or inertia, and you might get overconfident. Once you lose control on a turn, it's not as simple to just pop the clutch and let it catch again, because you've just put 200lbs. on the rear wheels to keep the slide going. Most people might think I'm crazy for this, but I like knowing I can control a slide rather than hoping I don't slide, because if I do it's not going to stop.
